This is where I am right now. I'm not staying inside the Vouziers mansion, but in one of the newer residents wings. The food is ok (since everyone talks about *the food*), the accommodation is really nice. I have my own room, there's an open bar, the people are nice. I'm literally in the boonies and miles and miles away from the city. Overall it has been pleasant so far, except that they play Faux News in the lounge, and you can't change it, OR turn it off!
1 FaverShareViewed: 57 TimesQuoted: The mansion was called Vouziers (Voo-zee-ay) because Joseph Desloge, Sr., served in the French Army during WWI and was decorated for bravery near Vouziers, France. He built the mansion to look like a French chateau. The estate was later purchased by a family of the name Kroeger, but is now owned by the Boeing Aircraft Corporation, serving as a leadership training facility.
I worked on the 787 for my first rotation with Boeing. Lots of people and energy. They totally bet the farm on this program.

My latest blog post...
1 FaverViewed: 5 TimesQuoted: There were two big emergencies during my stint as a New Yorker - 9/11 and the Northeast Blackout of 2003. I learned a lot about disaster preparedness after that (for example, keeping bottles of wine around for unexpected guests isn't as important as having bottles of water stored away for unexpected events).
