capitol hill
Just grabbed a couple drinks here. Really liked the place. It's fancy without feeling pretentious and while maintaining a neighborhood feel (It's on Bellevue just a few blocks from my place). Will definitely go back for Happy Hour and dinner. Recommended. The guy was saying they buy the entire (organic) cow -- so their beef is the real deal.

This place is one block down the hill from Shinka's and Cafe Metropolitan.
I had the Singapore Noodles, and they were great. The dish had good flavor, moist chicken, and thankfully was not greasy. Also, it was a lot of food for $8.

New place in Capitol Hill! The atmosphere is nice but forced/fake (unlike B&O which is truly is an older coffee shop). Nonetheless, I liked it for what it is -- spacious place / free-wi-fi / open really late (at least 1 am) / beer

This bus and another took a hilly side street since Denny was closed . The other bus (not visible in this picture) apparently pushed this bus all the way down the side street. Had the bus not stopped in time, it would have fallen 30 feet onto I-5.
All this happened one block from my apartment. Picture is taken from my cell phone.

I saw about 60 goats next to the dog park on my way to work (in urban Seattle between Capitol Hill and downtown). They're there to clear the brush.
Quoted: On my walk downtown this morning, I noticed a heard of goats making short work of the overgrown hillside along I-5, oblivious to the rush hour traffic yards away. The dogs at the park noticed too. One dog’s visit, in fact, had to be cut short, when he tried to jump the fence to reach the greedily grazing goats. (Like he would have known what to do with them if he did manage to make it over the fence.)

Great neighborhood bar in my neighborhood! Perfect balance of chill, edgy, and trendy. It'll make more sense when you check it out. It's right next to Top Pot.
3 FaversShareViewed: 26 TimesQuoted: The dark, cozy lounge is outfitted with the kind of vintage details that have made Top Pot (located next door) such a success, but here they're more exotic. Bamboo bar stools, wall-climbing tin flowers that glow red, and tasteful Southeast
Want to try this out.

went here for dinner tonight, both the food and the desserts were awesome. the drinks, though we didn't try any tonight, sounded intriguing (and yummy). wish i had had room for the cheeses too. it's in the loveless building at the end of broadway, where fork (and before that, bacchus) used to be. the space looks and feels much different now, and the murals actually feel like part of the decor! i'll definitely be back with friends, love it.
sue was the executive pastry chef at earth and ocean before she left earlier this year to start her own company. tell her sandra and wally sent you!

Very reasonably priced crepe and sandwich place. I thought the smoked salmon crepe was exception (salmon was fresh and not too salty), and the portion size was large. The dessert crepe was simple -- nothing exceptional but not bad either.
4 FaversShareViewed: 38 TimesQuoted: As the name implies, this little place makes great sweet and savory crepes. They're made right in front of you in a tiny shop by very friendly chefs (crepe-makers?). They offer simple crepes - nothing fancy. But, they're cheap ($2.80 for crepe with nutella and banana), yummy and quick. There are a few tables with prime people-watching views along Olive Way.
