Quoted: Stage 6: A place for people who love video to post videos, share videos, download and watch streaming videos.

Hello and welcome to Stage6
DivX Stage6 is a place for people who love video. It's a high-quality platform that lets anyone upload, download, view, share and experience everything from short clips captured on mobile phones all the way up to full-length, high-definition feature films. Anyone can become a publisher, anyone can build an audience and every video available on Stage6 is compatible with over 70 million consumer electronics devices from every major manufacturer, making it easy to play back Stage6 videos on your television or portable device.
That's a functional description of what the service offers. But Stage6 is also something else. It's an experiment. Like all experiments, it exists to test assumptions and answer questions. In this case, those questions are about the future of media. How do new technologies and platforms re-shape the content experience? Instead of just making things different, can digital media actually make things better? Is it possible for a video site to offer more than dogs on skateboards?
We think the answer, to that last question at least, is yes. More generally, we believe that digital media offers great promise for both content creators and consumers, and we want to do our part to help make sure the full breadth of that promise is realized. Digital tools and technologies have made the creation of content easier, cheaper and faster than ever before; anyone can become a filmmaker, and thanks to the Internet, anyone can share their content with the world.
But we believe that filmmakers can use the power of the Internet to do more than just "distribute" their work. We want to offer a platform that, ultimately, helps match the right audience to the right content, that lets filmmakers build and interact with communities of people, thereby deepening and transforming the content itself. We believe that consumers can do more than just 'consume' content in a digital age, that the act of viewing a piece of content is deepened by active participation. So that's part of what we're trying to get at with Stage6. It's an evolving space, as you'll no doubt discover, and we expect to get plenty of things wrong over time. We also hope to get some things right, and there are a few principles that will guide everything we do on the site:

Quoted:a harry potter fansite
These fan sites contain news updates into the world of the books, films, and film cast members, forums, image galleries, or video galleries.] Some sites host thousands of pieces of fan art, submitted by a wide variety of artists, often in the form of a contest. It is also common to find sites (or simply YouTube member pages) devoted to fan videos, which are typically in the form of anime music videos or songvids.

There are millions of fan web sites about Harry Potter on the Internet, the oldest ones dating to about 1997 or 1998.[] J. K. Rowling has an open relationship with her fan base, and since 2004 periodically hands out a "fan site award" on her official web site..In 2007, Harry Potter Fan Zone received the award and currently holds it.

J.K. RowlingJ.K. (Joanne Kathleen) Rowling was born in 1965 and grew up in Chepstow, Gwent. She left Chepstow to study French at Exeter University, where her course included a year in Paris. As a postgraduate, she moved to London to work at Amnesty International doing research into human rights abuses in Francophone Africa. She started writing Harry Potter after the idea occurred to her on an interminable Manchester to London train journey. Jo then moved to north Portugal to teach English as a foreign language, married, got pregnant, and kept writing. By the time her daughter was born, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was one-quarter finished.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published by Bloomsbury Children's Books in June 1997 to great critical acclaim, and has since won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize Gold Medal (9—11 years), the FCBG Children's Book Award (overall winner), the Birmingham Cable Children's Book Award, the Young Telegraph Paperback of the Year, the British Book Awards' Children's Book of the Year and the Sheffield Children's Book Award, and was short-listed for the Guardian Fiction Award and the Carnegie Medal (received 'Commended'). The book has also won two extremely prestigious foreign awards — Sorcieres Prix 1998 in France and the Premio Cento per la Letteratura Infantile 1998 in Italy.
