Another CPU/HDD temperature monitor - shareware. This one does display CPU temp as well as disk temp - but again, no fan speed information on IBM Thinkpad.

Download page for speedfan - a program the will report your Fan and hard disk temperature. I believe you want to keep these temperatures generally below about 70C.

Unfortunately, this program does NOT recognize the fan controller on my IBM Thinkpad. I was hoping to see what fan speed was being called for here.

Quoted: Hardware monitor for Windows that can access digital temperature sensors located on several 2-wire SMBus Serial Bus. Can access voltages and fan speeds and control fan speeds. Includes technical articles and docs.

Zabbix is a solution for monitoring applications, networks, and servers. With Zabbix, you can monitor multiple servers at a time, using a Zabbix server that comes with a web interface (that is used to configure Zabbix and holds the graphs of your systems) and Zabbix agents that are installed on the systems to be monitored. The Zabbix agents deliver the desired data to the Zabbix server. This tutorial shows how you can install the Zabbix server and agent on a Debian Etch system.

Great real-time resource monitoring tool for linux. Includes CPU, network, disk I/O, etc - all from the cammand line. Best of all, pre-compiled binaries, just use the "file" command to use the proper binary.

22" LCD with HDCP / HDMI @ 1200:1 for $299.99 ... really the only downside is the 1680x1050 (for a 22") ... but for the price, wow.
