Finally got my hands on a Wii. Only the promise of Wii Yoga coming down the pipe convinced the Mrs. to let me keep it. What's next, Wii Pilates?

I wonder if either one really helps you lose weight.

Interesting that yoga went from a predominantly male thing to predominantly female thing. In my bikram class today there were more men than women, however.

If you are thinking of giving yoga a try, specifically Bikram (hot yoga), check out Rain City. I've been coming here since last September, and really enjoy the experience. My favorite teacher here is Marta, who is also the founder and owner of Rain City. She's gentle, funny, patient, has an incredible memory, and very knowledgable. She also volunteers for local animal shelters.

The room is between 100 and 110 degrees (F), and you practice 26 asanas for 90 minutes. Then by the end you are stinky with dripping sweat but emotionally and physically happy :-)

I checked out The SweatBox for three classes, and wasn't super impressed with it. I didn't like the warehouse-ish feeling, and I didn't like how the instructors wear microphones. It felt like I was in an aerobic class.

Plus, it is freaken hard to find parking on Capitol Hill.
