delay delay delay. message to world leaders: we've already delayed too much!!

Quoted: Among the chief barriers to a comprehensive deal in Copenhagen was Congress’s inability to enact climate and energy legislation that sets binding targets on greenhouse gases in the U.S. Without such a commitment, other nations are loath to make their own pledges.

What can't politicians say things so succinctly? If Obama could just hammer home these five points consistently (to back up his abstract change message), I think more people would connect with him.

Quoted: You can't do anything if you try to do everything. But if you focus on a few big things, you can change a lot.
...
Here's my list of the five things I'd want to change if I was in his shoes:

Quoted: Michael Chang finds it appropriate he's receiving his sport's highest honor as China awaits the Olympics. Chang was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday and reflected on his experiences as a Chinese-American athlete. He won the 1989 French Open at age 17 -- the youngest man to win a major -- as the Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing were escalating into bloodshed. - Tennis news

All the storms and unusual weather patterns seem to indicate that there are some changes going on. Science proves it. We are having changes in the temperature of our Oceans and even in our climate. There have been great changes in the salt content in water and an increase in the quantity of water in our ecosystem. We have created a great imbalance and now the world is trying to fix itself.

good article and a good start to the climate justice discussion.

Quoted: Randy Poplock, guest columnist: In the Pacific Northwest, climate justice must be considered in policy decisions and public dialogue. Every environmental issue poses a social justice concern, and climate change is no exception.

Quoted: Is it my imagination or have the atheists come out of the closet (in the United States) since 9/11?

Prior to 9/11, it would have been career suicide for a public figure to come right out and say God is a fairy tale. Now it’s a feature of popular culture. You can see it on cable of course, in shows such as BullSh*t, Real Time, The Daily Show, and Southpark. But it’s also a feature of network TV. The main character on House is written as the most brilliant human on the planet, and he’s an atheist. The new show 3lbs has a similar character. I can’t remember anything like that ten years ago.
