The bird's eye view in Microsoft Live Search Maps is pretty amazing -- far better than any view in Google Maps. This is a view of the "cut" at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

The nine week course introduces students to the electronics, mechanics and computer science of robotics, culminating in a series of autonomous robot challenges. Students program and operate vision-based mobile robots capable of sophisticated sensing and intelligent decision-making. After taking the course, students have the option to purchase identical robot kits for their personal use. We encourage students to continue the exploration of robotics after completing the program..

1 FaverShareViewed: 3 Times1 FaverShareViewed: 6 TimesQuoted: Smart People is going to be the new hit indie comedy, at least I hope. I saw this surprisingly impressive comedy-drama at Sundance, and it's made it very high on my list as one of the best movies of the fest. The story is about a literature professor from Carnegie Mellon University named Lawrence Wetherhold, played by Dennis Quaid, who gets involved in a relationship (with Sarah Jessica Parker) and is dealing with his perfectionist daughter (Ellen Page) and jobless brother (Thomas Haden Church). It is a very smart comedy (no pun intended) based off of a fantastic script, and the best part - Ellen Page is back again with another fantastic performance. You won't want to miss this.
CMU's answer to MIT's open courseware? It looks like they are more focused on actually providing complete online course - and not just in placing the course materials online.
