Quoted: 欧州のスタートアップ企業Tonicumから、「世界初のポケットサイズDJシステム」を名乗る面白いデバイスがでてきました。Pacemakerは(コネクタ類からすると)PSP程度のサイズに120GB HDD (Spinpoint N2?)を内蔵したポータブル音楽プレーヤで、ヘッドフォンジャックのほかLINE OUTジャックを搭載。タッチパッドでクロスフェーダやピッチ・ベンドコントロール、ループ / キュー / 各種エフェクトといったDJプレイ機能が操作できるという製品。

単体のプレーヤとしてもなかなか機能は充実しており、対応フォーマットはMP3, AAC, WMA, WMAロスレス、OGG Vorbis / FLAC, WAV。カラーディスプレイも搭載します。音楽再生時間は18時間、DJプレイモードでは5時間。PCとのインタフェイスにはUSB 2.0を使いMac & Windowsに両対応。

これまでもiPodをHDDに使う小型DJシステムやクロスフェードができるポータブルプレーヤといったものはありましたが、Pacemakerはちょっと変わった音楽プレーヤとして、DJ志望のポータブル練習デバイスとしてなかなか気になる製品です。詳細はまもなく発表、「プレミアエディション」が秋に登場予定。
