House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at a health conference last week stressed the importance of health IT in any health policy proposal and touted the technologys ability to lower costs and boost care. She added that privacy and security protections are necessary for widespread adoption. Other lawmakers have also said that health IT will be a priority in Congress this year.
