Someone trying to deploy enterprise applications for Google Apps - it's a HAIRY installation process!  This workflow is crazy - I don't think anyone can make a business out of this sort of self-service deployment with this many steps.

Quoted: This screencast will show you how to install floreysoft shared contacts in your own Google Apps domain.

My thoughts exactly. Watch them prove me wrong;)

Quoted: Here is why I would not consider Yammer a serious start-up:
...
1. No barriers.
2. The incumbent can replace their advantage way too easily.
3. No natural early adopter. The normal early adopter is on Twitter.
...
You use Yammer rather than Twitter to restrict the Followers to your colleagues. So you can discuss company secrets really securely. (That, by the way, was a joke)

newsgator has a SharePoint extension called Social Sites, that creates a personal profile, recommends friends and feeds via common interests and tags, and also uses Social Bookmarking to bring in content from outside the sharepoint site.

Quoted: Some of us are ready for the Web 2.0 wave that is now breaking over us, and some of us are not. The McKinsey Quarterly just put out an insightful article, 'Eight Business Technology Trends to Watch' (registration required), that outlines eight unique business trends that will be enabled by the Web 2.0 technology wave. With apologies to the guys at McKinsey for oversimplifying their detailed work, here's my brief synopsis of their 'Big 8'

IBM's enterprise social bookmarking...

Quoted: Dogear exploits the enterprise by allowing people to bookmark pages within their Intranet. In addition it uses enterprise directories to authenticate the user's identity. This allows people to find experts on specific topics within the company. For example, a employee looking for someone knowledgeable in Java can look at the dogear "java" tag to see who has been bookmarking pages around that topic. Dogear will also show tags associated with "java," which may help to refine the search. Once users have found a potential expert, they can see that person's bookmarks, internal blog, and contact information. This form of expertise location helps spur collaboration and sharing of resources within the company.
