Letterman's become a real politico lately... Aside from this video, he's made some serious jabs at McCain's campaign. FYI, Obama is on his show tonight!

Quoted: "We are dead meat," said David Letterman last night in the midst of a lengthy rant on global warming. He blamed a lack of leadership over the last several decades. He also said he didn't think that little steps like reusing party toothpicks or turning lawn clippings into mulch could possibly help.

ok, here I am asking a question of Gov Gregoire and Candidate Dino Rossi in the WA state governor's race. please go to youtube and watch the video and give it a good rating so that it's picked as one of the final 5! (and make fun of me later...) Even if you don't live in the state, you can still vote on the video :-)

Quoted: Sudha, from Spokane asks: Do you believe that global warming is caused by human activities? If so, do you support science based and enforceable caps to limit...

Apparently if you don't like something, you can ignore it by just not opening the email.

Quoted: The White House told E.P.A. officials that it would not open an e-mail sent in December that argued that greenhouse gases are pollutants that must be controlled.

Now I'm even more curious to see this movie...

Quoted: Pixar's new animated feature Wall-E is more than a great movie. According to the critics, it's a trenchant social commentary. So what is this powerful and profound message? Wall-E tells us that if we don't change the way we live, we'll all get really fat and destroy the world.

Quoted: The disappearance of the Arctic sea ice, making it possible to reach the Pole sailing in a boat through open water, would be one of the most dramatic – and worrying – examples of the impact of global warming on the planet. Scientists say the ice at 90 degrees north may well have melted away by the summer.

I want to build one of these along the Grand River.

Quoted: "The next step: we not only make the house floating, but we make the complete garden floating," Olthuis says. Why not? Why lose all those pretty Dutch tulips just because it floods?

I agree wtih Glenn's opinion of Gore. He's a db.

Quoted: The other villain of the moment is the global warming "denier." Anyone who disagrees, even in the slightest, must be ridiculed. On "60 Minutes" last weekend, Al Gore said: "They're almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the Earth is flat. That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off."

Quoted:The "60 Minutes" piece wasn't just filled with misrepresentations of opinion; it had plenty of Gore-style hypocrisy. He was embroiled in controversy when it was revealed his mansion used 20 times more energy than the average American. His explanation? "Since then" his house has been retrofitted with solar panels. I'm sure Eliot Spitzer hasn't been renting many women since he was caught either. (Although I'm not betting my life on it.)

Quoted: Some 220 square miles of ice has collapsed in Antarctica and an ice shelf about the size of Connecticut is "hanging by a thread," the British Antarctic Survey said Tuesday, blaming global warming.

Um, scary. It sounds like this needs to be researched more thoroughly - but a frightening observation nonetheless (also, these kinds of studies need to be dealth with delicately to prevent hysteria within the community and/or female infanticide).

Quoted: Half as many boys as girls are being born in some places around the world—and pollution is the prime suspect.
