I am so proud to become a part of everything that Avni and Sachin have done throughout their lives! They have done more in over two decades than most people will do in a few lifetimes.

We love you!

I wonder if this will come out to the bay area. I hope the movie will vividly capture the reality of Kibera....hope and despair, the two sides of the coin!

"Always work hard," he says.

"Don't say that I don't have a talent, so because I'm in Kibera I can't do anything.

"I'm also from Kibera, I didn't know that I would ever act. When the chance comes, you should try to use it to succeed."

As the success of Kibera Kid proves, even those living in poverty cannot be held back from stardom and there are now plans to produce a full-length version of the film.

Quoted: The internationally acclaimed film tells the story of a 12-year-old orphaned boy Otieno and is shot entirely in the slum, starring local actors.

Touristy map of Kenya. Haven't been in 10+ years, but next time I go I'd like to visit some of the following places:

- Mt Kenya National Park
- Masai Mara National Reserve (apparently the best game reserve in the country)
- Lake Nakuru (best place to see pink flamingos)
- Kisumu
- Mombasa
