I'm glad Slate did a shopping piece on air mattresses. The quality varies so much between cheap ones and slightly more expensive ones. I think it's worth the investment in a mid-range one - I'd rather just use a sleeping bag than a crappy air mattress... BUT, the really expensive ones are so pricey they cost almost as much as a regular mattress...

I haven't been able to sleep well at all lately. I've heard the quality of your bed really affects your sleep. As logical as that may sound I've always rejected it, because "I've never had problems sleeping anywhere, floor, cars, bus, camp ground..." The prices on these puppies give me sticker shock, but that's cuz I'm used to IKEA.
