This gives you an idea on the society in Mauritius: highly conservative and in this case, lacking respect for women's rights. This is awfully frustrating to read, but I'm glad that Sandra took it upon herself to fight not for herself, but for all the women living in Mauritius.

Horse racing is a *huge* part of the Mauritian culture. The British introduced it in the early 1800s and it's a big deal for the locals even today.
Anyway, I'm Dotting this for my fellow Mauritians who follow the races. The season starts tomorrow!
