My co-worker just picked up a Scion xB as his grocery getter. I was tempted to buy one too, b/c the car appears so roomy.

It's actually quite spartan. The dash is molded plastic, gauges simple to read, wide seats, tall roof, plenty of cargo space.

The body is plastic and looks fragile (what doesn't these days).

If I didn't buy this car, I'd look at a Corolla or Fit for my daily commuter.

I am not enjoying the fu manchu or whatever he is going for here.

Quoted: For a man who performs extraordinary exploits in the pool, and who could take a record haul of golds in Beijing, Michael Phelps is having a remarkably ordinary time.
...
While tennis world number one Roger Federer and the NBA-studded U.S. basketball team have been surrounded by admirers, Phelps has been relatively untroubled.
...
"I was sitting in the dining hall the other day and Federer was in there and he just got swarmed," said the man who stands to dominate the Games if he shatters compatriot Mark Spitz's 1972 record.
...
"Some of the basketball guys were in there last night and we had a chance to meet them and hang out with them for a bit and they got swarmed too. I've been fine. A few pictures here and there but nothing major."

Jessie is one of Michael Wesch's anthropology students - and this is her first attempt at a VLOG on YouTube. It's interesting to watch, for the awkward self-consciousness of talking to an unknown audience for the first time.

She compensates for the embarrassing clips, by then editing the video to add text commentary. Thereby revealing her awkwardness, and at the same time acknowledging that she KNOWS she is awkward, and so representing that she is more sophisticated than she appears.
