According to nthe report, it sounds like the melamine isn't accidentally introduced into the milk, but is "added" to the milk. What's going on over there?!

Quoted: China's Health Minister Chen Zhu on Wednesday said there are now 6,244 reported cases of infants made sick and, among those, three have died from drinking tainted milk formula.

Quoted: Two officers had even infiltrated the farmer’s inner circle, obtaining for themselves samples of his product. Lab tests confirmed their suspicions. It was raw milk. The unpasteurized stuff. Now the time had come to take him down.

A really cool app that lets you type letters, and when you do, a little guy comes out and builds each letter with milk crates.

A nice timewaster.

Quoted: Recently, you've probably noticed the conflicting research about dairy products. Some reports trumpeted by the National Dairy Council suggest that drinking milk will help promote weight loss. Other research shows that drinking milk can cause weight gain, and even increase risk of diabetes or other diseases. Who's right?

Most (lay) people think of evolution as something that occurred in the distant past - not as an active process that we are all involved in even today.

Humans evolved the ability to drink milk as adults, about 5,000 years ago. Cattle were domesticated only about 9,000 years ago. So in a relatively short period of 4,000 years, we see a dramatic adoption of the lactose-tolerant gene (and related genes) due to their confering dramatically improved survival rates. After (only) 200 generations, we seen a dramatic migration of humans in the broad population that can now digest milk.

Quoted: Genetic evidence shows that the mutations conferred an enormous selective advantage on their owners, enabling them to leave almost 10 times as many descendants as people without them. The mutations have created “one of the strongest genetic signatures of natural selection yet reported in humans,” the researchers write.
