fuck the "'starving times' of native Alaskans dependent on herds of migrant caribou"--here's the Swans:
darker than death. lighter than a bloated corpse floating down the river towards the ocean mouth with a faint smile on its face à la laura palmer. if the second track of disc one doesn't produce new neural connections for you and urge you on to the end of the second disc, then just give the fuck up right now.

1 FaverShareViewed: 2 TimesQuoted: A well needed re-issue of one of the finest E.A.R. releated releases featuring some true trailblazing contributions from the likes of Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3 & Spectrum), Thomas Köner and Andy Mellwig (Porter Ricks), Kevin Martin from God, The Bug and Techno Animal, Eddie Prevost, founder of the legendary AMM, and Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine). Using an interesting array of equipment from Eddie Prevost’s Bowed Cymbals to the vintage analogue gear of Sonic Boom this release holds many different musical forms within its pulsating synths and alien sounds and is already considered a sought after classic, so a timely re-issue indeed. The new CD contains 2 extra tracks from the original release which takes the total to 12 tracks of sublime, subconscious electronic music. Essential.

Voids is two separate five-track EPs in one abum. It's not quite an official Enemies List release, by the way, but rumor has it that the band was involved in its leak/release. The first EP is a rare demo album called Powers Of Ten, and the second is called What Happened Next Was Worse, which is sort of like what Amnesiac was to Kid A, meaning that what can be said of Deathconsciousness can be said of What Happened Next--the epic five year writing process and whatnot applying here as well. Having listened to the second EP (we're all already familiar with the demo tracks cuz they all made it onto Deathconsciousness, albeit in different form), I have to say that I'm glad the tracks on 'Next' didn't make it onto Deathconsciousness. Not that they are bad in any way whatsoever--it's just that Deathconsciousness is so epically brutal that too many uptempo songs (like The Future) or too many ambient drone song (like There Is No Food) would have turned it into a completely different album. This is a necessary supplement composed of misfit tracks.
