Downloadable paper automata! (machines) Very cool stuff.

Quoted: Download. Each kit comes as an acrobat file. You can download the kit to your computer the second your order is complete. You can then view the file using the free acrobat reader which is available here.

Print. Print out the fully illustrated instructions onto paper. Print the parts pages onto thin card with full colour front and back. Most commonly available injet printers are perfect for this.

Assemble. Score and cut out the pieces. Glue the parts together with white school glue to make your own working, moving paper animation model!

The video has been reposted multiple times now at YouTube. This looks like it has a pretty good chance of bein an actual Origami concept video for Microsoft. We'll see...

panda

Recent DNA testing shows the panda is a bear after all. I couldn't find the article I read, but Wikipedia has been updated to reflect it.

Quoted: For many decades the precise taxonomic classification of the panda was under debate as both the giant panda and the distantly related red panda share characteristics of both bears and raccoons. However, genetic testing seems to have revealed that giant pandas are true bears and part of the Ursidae family, but one that diverged relatively early from the rest of the family. Its closest bear relative is the Spectacled Bear of South America. (Disagreement remains about whether or not the red panda belongs in Ursidae; the raccoon family, Procyonidae; or in its own family, Ailuridae.)
