Porteau Cove is on the Sea-to-Sky Highway in British Columbia. It's one the way to Whistler and within an easy drive of Vancouver. Not much other info yet but I'll be interested in seeing how much these will cost.

One of the two new developments we saw in Squamish. I love Squamish. Wonder how much these bad-boys are going for?

Quoted: Red Point.

I had no idea about this offer to give away free land (1.3 acre lots) in Alaska. The catch? People who "win" have to build a 1,000 sq. foot or larger house on the property within 2 years.

Quoted: A town in Alaska's frozen interior that offered free land to anyone willing to put down roots had it all spoken for within hours Monday.

Another oceanside community on the Sea-to-Sky highway. These guys had great condos a few years ago but now I think there are just luxury homes for sale.

I love these "Rules for Real Estate Agents."

Quoted: 4. Don't tell me how much a neighbor is "asking."

Quoted: All it does is tell me how much inventory is around. One agent told me the owner of the shitbox across the street was "Asking $1.2m." I replied "Well, I've been asking Anna Kournikova to sleep with me -- and that will happen sooner then they will get $1.2m." (Right in front of the missus . . . And bless her heart, she laughs out loud every time).

Quoted: On the other hand, comparables in the neighborhood that have already sold are valuable info. Show us that (I have a sneaking suspicion why some agents weren't passing that around).

The real house that became the model for Disney's Haunted Mansion is up for sale at $1.75 million. Wouldn't that be fun to own?
