Check out how much carbon dioxide your car emits a year. I drive a Mazda 3, which , by comparison, is not a "gaz guzzler". But because of my daily commute from Fremont to Boeing plants in Everett, Renton, and Bellevue, (30 miles + seattle traffic) it's technically a gaz guzzler.

Quoted: TerraPass allows consumers to easily and affordably eliminate the environmental impact of driving their cars by purchasing carbon emission offsets. Help prevent global warming. TerraPass is a global warming solution that reduces carbon dioxide air pollution. Your car puts several tons of carbon dioxide into the air every year. TerraPass takes it back out. Easy, effective, affordable.

Brian Benzinger (user: bbenzinger on Blue Dot) has posted a really nice review of a new hosted resume service. Looks pretty nice. The only thing about a hosted resume solution is that I might forget where I actually put it (as in, "where on the web did I put my resume?"), just like I do between my various machines. I'm not really sure how to solve that though... Maybe emurse emails you onc in a while as a little reminder? Maybe they track your resume viewage stats so that they have something interesting to tell you?

Quoted: Emurse is a recently launched service which has me pretty excited that allows users to easily create and maintain a ...

Now a book of the same title.

Quoted:As a natural-born child of the meritocracy, I'd been amassing momentum my whole life, entering spelling bees, vying for forensics medals, running my mouth in mock United Nations meetings and model state governments and student congresses, and I knew only one direction: forward, onward. I lived for prizes, praise, distinctions, and I gave no thought to any goal higher or broader than my next report card. Learning was secondary; promotion was primary. No one had ever told me what the point was, except to keep on accumulating points, and this struck me as sufficient. What else was there?

Quoted: We laughed at the notion of "authorial intention" and concluded, before reading even a hundredth of it, that the Western canon was illegitimate ... we skipped straight from ignorance to revisionism, deconstructing a body of literary knowledge that we'd never constructed in the first place
