Quoted: Is it a Google Phone? Is it the 3G iPhone? Is it something MacGyver put together using a matchbox and his pants? Nope, it's none of those, it's HTC's latest smart phone, the Touch Diamond, which aims to take a bite out of Apple's iPhone cake.

The new HTC interface

Quoted: Together with today's HTC Touch Diamond announcement, HTC also announced a new version of its HTC TouchFLO UI - previously codenamed as "Manila UI" and now called TouchFLO 3D - which follows the first TouchFLO UI which was initially introduced last year with the launch of the HTC Touch.

Cool. I currently think of Windows Mobile as more targeted to the enterprise user than the home user.

Quoted: More details about the company's broader Windows Mobile plans could come Tuesday, when Microsoft makes its appearance at the annual CTIA Wireless convention in Las Vegas. Among other things, it's expected to show Windows Mobile 6.1, the next update to the software.

This is a good buy for $300. And, you are not locked into a cell contract. Things this has that the Dash doesn't:
- 2.5 mm plug
- GPS!
- 2 megapixel camera
- Faster processor: OMAPV1030 (260MHz) -- although I am not sure how much faster this is. i was hoping for the 400MHz processor that's in the HTC S630.

Wow, this is very cool if it works. It makes your Windows Mobile phone a WI-FI router.

Quoted: WMWifiRouter is a tool to use your Windows Mobile 6 (possibly 5) as a WiFi <-> GPRS/UMTS/HSPA router. It'll allow you to use WiFi capable devices to connect to the internet through your phone's data connection.

Get GPS-like capabilities without GPS! Definitely going to try this out on my T-Mobile Dash soon.

Quoted: Why the uncertainty? The My Location feature takes information broadcast from mobile towers near you to approximate your current location on the map - it's not GPS, but it comes pretty close (approximately 1000m close, on average). We're still in beta, but we're excited to launch this feature and are constantly working to improve our coverage and accuracy.

This happened to me. I lost all my WIndows Live contacts because of an unnecessary and buggy contact sync feature in Windows Live Messenger Mobile. Argh! I would *strongly* recommend against using Windows Live Messenger Mobile.

Quoted: Because I lost all my Outlook contacts data, which also included these previously mentioned synchronized Windows Live Messenger contacts, the Windows Live Mobile client thought it's smart by also wiping my buddy list - which isn't smart at all and it's something I've never said to do! There was even not a single notification - it just happened.
