WorkStack | Brandon Marin-Anderson

One of the cool Google AppEngine hack-a-thon apps, WorkStack was written by Brandon Martin-Anderson. You can sign in with your Google account, and use it to keep track of your work items using a command line interface.

The concept is that you push items onto a stack, and pop them off when they are complete. It then tracks how long it took to complete each task (there is also a feature where you can add an estimate at the end of a task and it will compare your estimated to actual time when you are done).

Didn't know about this until now. I discovered this while I was investigating how a certain Web site still seemed to remember stuff about me even though I had cleared my cookies.

DOM Storage is useful because no good browser-only methods exist for persisting reasonable amounts of data for any period of time. Browser cookies have limited capacity and provide no support for organizing persisted data, and other methods (such as Flash Local Storage) require an external plugin.
