With the success of “The Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” sci-fi flicks about superheroes who join up and kick absolute ass are all the rage right now. Russia definitely took notice to this craze and decided to dip its toes into the pond with a movie called “Zashchitniki,” which in English translates to “Guardian.”

Judging from the trailer, they made one hell of an “Avengers” tribute.

Here is the movie’s synopsis, according to IMDB:

“During the Cold War, an organization called ‘Patriot’ created a super-hero squad, which includes members of multiple soviet republics. For years, the heroes had to hide their identities, but in hard times they must show themselves again.”

So, yeah, definitely expect a whole lot of Russia rah rah type stuff in this one. Oh, and since it’s Russian and all, this movie, set for a late February release, wouldn’t be complete without some sort of mega manbear type character that wreaks absolute havoc.

We bet Leo DiCaprio would have some pretty awful flashbacks after watching this one.
