18-year-old Kristian Gonzalez, a New Jersey teenager who punched an older man for no apparent reason last year, plead guilty to aggravated assault Wednesday.

Gonzalez, who was 17 when the attack occurred, faces a three-year prison sentence which is set to begin Sept. 30. He was initially charged as a juvenile, as the attack occurred when he was 17, but his case was moved to adult court.

The attack occurred in December of 2015 when Gonzalez and another teen played a “game” called “knockout” where they seemingly attacked unsuspecting victims and recorded it. Gonzalez walks up to a smaller, older man and punches him once in the face. The man immediately collapsed, and the cruel action sparked outrage.

The teen who recorded the video was charged with aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim. His case is pending in juvenile court.
