A disgruntled and disturbed University of South Carolina student had been fighting for weeks with her roommates at an off-campus house and was told to leave, but she may have had ideas of them leaving Earth instead.
Haley King, 24, was caught on hidden camera by her roommates contaminating containers of food with Windex and also spitting, ABC News reported. The roommates were worried after weeks of fighting that King was up to no good, but could they have imagined this?
The video was filmed February 4, and one of the roommates says she was affected physically and mentally by the Windex-sprayed food incident. King was brought in for questioning shortly after police got a hold of the video and confessed.
King has been charged with malicious tampering with human drug product or food, a charge that could have yielded a maximum of 20 years in prison.
Instead, she elected to enter a diversion program, meaning that upon successful completion, she could have her record expunged.
King’s lawyer hinted there may be more to the story.
“There are other facts of this case that were unknown to the public, Seth Rose, King’s lawyer, told WYFF-TV. “That’s why we ask anyone who has been bullied to go through the proper channels and seek assistance from local authorities, rather than acting on your own.”
