Bill Hicks was one of those razor sharp comedic talents that was taken from us way too soon. Passing away at the age of only 32, his special brand of I-really-don’t-give-a-damn comedy was something you either loved or hated, but you definitely always remembered.
Hicks shows just a taste of that particularly scathing style in this hilarious bit on smoking, where he calls out the “noxious, self-righteous sadists” that are non-smokers.
Smokers and non-smokers alike can see the humor in Hicks’ bit, as the only real butts of Hicks’ jokes are the ones that take them too seriously.
“That’s kind of cruel, man, going up to a smoker and coughing at him. You go up to crippled people dancing too? ‘I didn’t invent the wheelchair, what’s your problem? Come on, ironside, race ya.'”
