One Colorado resident became curious about what he described as a “bullet-looking missile thing” he spotted on the side of the road and decided to investigate.

Mark McDade has gotten no real answers.

“I asked (one person) if it was military technology, and he said, ‘No.’ Then I asked him if it was commercial proprietary, and he literally kept his mouth shut. The hush-hush nature of the whole thing is what really got me curious,” McDade told the Boulder County News.

His curiosity was piqued enough to get Lockheed Martin spokeswoman Suzanne Smith to reveal, vaguely, that the military contractor was “just testing one of its sensor technologies.” She declined to say anything more, citing competition reasons.

The testing phase has come to an end and we still don’t really know what this object is or does.
