Just a week after the death of “The Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie, a contestant on Mexico’s version of the show died from gunshot wounds in Chicago.

According to The Associated Press, Alejandro “Jano” Fuentes, 45, died Saturday, two days after he was shot in the head three times while celebrating his birthday outside his performing arts studio, Tras Bambalinas School. He appeared on Mexico’s “The Voice” in 2011.

Police said Fuentes was in his car with friends when a man approached the vehicle, told the performer to get out, then shot him. There are no suspects yet, police said.

Late last Friday, Grimmie, 22, was signing autographs after a concert in Orlando, Florida, when Kevin James Loibl fatally shot her, then himself. Investigators have not determined a motive for the killing.
