With the Royal Rumble, the NFL Pro Bowl, the NHL All-star game and the SAG Awards going on this past Sunday, many of you may have missed the crowning of Iris Mittenaere as Miss Universe 2017, but it’s no doubt a moment she’ll never forget.

If you’re at all familiar with the pageant’s history, then you remember last year’s debacle, when host Steve Harvey announced the wrong woman as the winner. Fortunately for Mittenaere, and Harvey for that matter, that wasn’t the case this year.

The 23-year-old Miss France ultimately beat out women from 85 countries to take home the prestigious title, and while she was certainly up against some fierce competition, her big victory was absolutely well deserved.

Congrats, Iris! (P.S. Marry me?)
