The day before Thanksgiving a North Carolina man made the catch of a lifetime when he reeled in a monster catfish.
According to WWAY TV3 in Wilmington, NC, Riahn Brewington was fishing in his favorite spot on the Cape Fear River when he got a bite, but this wasn’t just any old fish.
The 112-pound catch was only five pounds short of the state record for a catfish.
“In the water, it felt like it was pretty big, but like I said being that big I thought it would have already snapped the line, but I didn’t realize how big he was until I actually got my hands underneath him,” Brewington told WWAY reporter Hannah Patrick.
He said he was happy with the catch but wished it was a little bigger so he’d have the record. Either way, it was one heck of a catch and one he will surely remember forever.
