Police announced Wednesday afternoon that they had recovered the body of the 2-year-old baby who was pulled into Disney World’s Seven Seas Lagoon by an alligator, despite his parents’ frantic efforts to save him.
The parents have been identified as Matt and Melissa Graves of Elkhorn, Neb., while their son has been identified as 2-year-old Lane Graves.
Now we have our first look at the baby after it was released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The police also tweeted on behalf of the Graves family, asking for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.
Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger released the following statement Wednesday:
As a parent and a grandparent, my heart goes out to the Graves family during this time of devastating loss. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and I know everyone at Disney joins me in offering our deepest sympathies.
The Graves family was on vacation with their three kids.
