An Indiana woman has been jailed after taking her obsession with doughnuts to frightening extremes.

Police say Michelle Nelson, 37, became so enraged when her husband Timothy came home Friday morning without her favorite doughnuts that she stabbed him the chest with a grill fork, reported. The husband went to a store near the couple’s home in New Albany near Louisville to get doughnuts for wife, but the store “did not have the type she normally gets,” according to a police report.

When Timothy returned home without any doughnuts at all, his wife got upset that he “did not know what else she liked after being together for several years,” police said. In the ensuing argument, Timothy attempted to leave the house, but the wife blocked the door and “lunged at him with a grill fork, stabbing him in the chest,” according to the report.

Timothy reportedly pulled the fork from his chest and fled the home with Michelle ” “following him and still yelling at him.” Police arrived to find the husband sitting against a tree applying pressure to the wound on his chest, with his jeans and shirt covered in blood. He was reportedly taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said she saw the argument unfold as Timothy tried to leave the house.

“She was pushing him and basically telling him, ‘if you leave, you’re gonna leave in a body bag,'” the neighbor said. “It (the grill fork) broke off inside him and he snatched it out and blood started going everywhere. It was crazy.”

The neighbor added that the couple’s two-year-old daughter was upstairs sleeping the whole time.

“I was worried about the child more than I was worried about them two,” she said.

Meanwhile, Michelle is being held at the Floyd County jail on charges of felony aggravated battery in lieu of $75,000 bond. There’s no word on what doughnuts she may have favored.
