Not quite as impressive as Tiger Woods winning the 2008 U.S. Open on a broken leg, but it’s still pretty good.
It happened when Vanderbilt University reliever Corey Williams took this screaming comebacker straight to the knee in a game against Florida back in 2010.
The line drive broke his knee cap, but he still showed the presence of mind—as well as the grit—to throw the runner out at first.
What makes this video especially cringe-inducing is the audio. You can actually here the sound of what must be bone crunching like potato chips when the ball makes contact.
It might be time for pitchers to start gearing up like catchers.
