Roona Begum was rushed to hospital in 2013 when her head swelled to three times its normal size.

The diagnosis? She was born with a condition called hydrocephalus; there was build-up of cerebrospinal fluid on her brain.

Thankfully, surgeons were able to operate and reduce the circumference of her head. However, the prognosis was grim: she wasn’t expected to survive.

But boy, did the little girl prove them wrong.
