Madonna is making waves again.
The singer took to social media to pay tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting over the weekend, but one of her posts really made some people upset.
Her first post was well-received by fans. The image went on Twitter Sunday afternoon and featured two men touching tongues. She captioned the photo, “love is love. Stop hate crimes. Any form of terrorism is a form of Hate!”
That image was retweeted 3,600 times and favorited by nearly 7,000 of her followers.
A few hours later, Madge posted a throwback image of her infamous 2003 kiss with Britney Spears at the MTV Music Video Awards. That’s when all hell broke loose.
One follower quickly commented with major shade when they wrote, “Are you serious right now? This isn’t about you and your fake ass kiss for publicity. I would think you’d know better.”
And another fired off with, “ok it’s time to lay off the memes sis.”
But, Madonna didn’t let the hate phase her. Instead of laying off the memes, she went straight to Instagram with a photo of herself at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards.
Using a quote from her speech, Madonna captioned the meme, “what has happened in Orlando is devastating. My heart goes out to all of the victims of the shooting and to their families. Stop hate crimes!!!!!”
