If you grew up during the ’70s or ’80s or are just a fan of old school TV shows in general, odds are you’ve seen or are at least familiar with the buddy cop show “CHiPs.”
The show, which aired from 1977-1983, starred Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox as California Highway patrolmen Frank “Ponch” Poncherello and Jon Baker.
Well, it looks like the show is getting the remake treatment, and in the vein of such TV-show-turned-movie remakes as “Baywatch” and “21 Jump Street,” it’s getting slapped with an R rating for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, pervasive language, some violence and drug use.”
Dax Shepard and Michael Pena, who play Baker and Ponch, respectively, stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday night, in full cop get-up and everything, to debut the trailer, and we have to say, it actually looks pretty funny.
Sure, they seem to have taken quite a few liberties with this, but hey, that’s par for the course in Hollywood.
