I looked at RightScale some time ago. Pretty darn pricey for what they're providing.
It sounded like they have a free trial to start out?
RightScale gives a certain level of functionality for free. The ability to launch and manage AMI's and to access to some of their build scripts/templates is well worth signing up for at least the developer account (free). I found their service very helpful while I was learning about AWS.
I'd love to see how they make MySQL work - but that's not part of the free plan.
Their first paid level is $2500 setup + $500/month. Plus Amazon charges.
Wow! That is expensive. Wouldn't make sense unless you had 100's of EC2 instances.
