  • A "Hermeneutics Quiz" to help us understand why we interpret some things the way we do.

I have numerous Christian friends who think I'm an apostate because I believe that that promise has transferred from the Jewish people to the new "children of Abraham," that is, any believer, Jew or Gentile. This will supposedly help me know why I believe the way I do and why they believe so strongly that I'm potentially hellbound, due to incorrect beliefs!

So, what are you? It tells me I'm a progressive. Not surprisingly. By the way, do these friends read the Bible? ;-)

Oh, they read it a lot. One even has published 2 books about the Bible, Israel, prophecy, etc.

Who says you're an apostate? Cause your understanding is the same one I have of the bible. Jesus has numerous illustrations regarding this issue. But as you stressed, Jew or Gentile, it's not that the Jews back in the day of Jesus times could not of gotten the promise, they just had to accept Jesus, that made them Christian. Jewish is a religion, not a race... as some people might confuse.

But at the end, religion is a personal thing... if it's real to them... I guess it works. But criticize others without listening first, is a mistake.

I got an 85 ... along with my score the results message encouraged me to stock up on SPF 5000.
