the annoying thing about the following is that I was raised vegetarian and the only people who made me uncomfortable were the meat eating kids who made fun of me. perhaps tolerance needs to be taught in those homes rather than expecting that vegetarian kids eat highly processed fake meat options...
The experts she quotes strongly suggest that parents allow some leeway, such as “allowing kids to eat meat at friends’ houses or restaurants or packing snacks and lunches that look like chicken nuggets or hot dogs but are actually made from soy or wheat gluten.”
