jigna, deborealis, matt and I all went to go see Paul Rusesabagina speak this Saturday. Rusesabagina is the real man behind Don Cheadle's character in "Hotel Rwanda." I know the first thing I heard a lot of my friends say after "Hotel Rwanda" was "how come I didn't know this was going on while it happened?" Well, the sad truth is that the same type of genocide is happening elsewhere in Africa - right now. There was a lot of attention given to Darfur in this talk and to the "Save Darfur" organization which is trying to do something about it. Read for yourself and then click to send a mesage to the President.
Quoted: The Save Darfur Coalition is an alliance of over 130 diverse faith-based, humanitarian, and human rights organization, assembled to raise public awareness and to mobilize efforts to help end the atrocities and reduce the suffering in Darfur and nearby refugee camps.
