Got my cheapo indoor HDTV antenna this week -- it actually works! I'm amazed, since I'm 15+ miles out of Seattle, and it's sitting in my concrete encased basement / media hole. As other reviewers have noted, it's quite fragile, but fortunately I have a wide ledge behind some blinds so I can keep it out of "kitten range". Other than that, it's pretty much "plug & play", provided your TV has a built in tuner.

can you get basic local channels with this thing?

    • derek - Jul 16 2006

Yeah, ABC/NBC/CBS/WB ... in HD! This is only for UHF HDTV reception ... it doesn't help with the analog channels, but I don't have any interest in analog OTA. Eww.
