Faves for this Web page
I cooked this Monday night. Sorry for the picture quality- shakey hands and a camera phone.
I call it whiskey beef, because thats what its made of, turned out pretty good, despite being experimental and using cheap beef.
Here is my recipe:
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds Beef
1 Onion
4 cloves of Garlic
Whiskey (i used JD)
Sesame Oil
Salt
Soy SauceCut beef into strips, slice onion, mash garlic up. Place beef in a bowl and pour whiskey over to coat it (dont fill the bowl with whiskey, just enough to cover all the beef). Knead with hands. Place sliced onion into frying pan with a little bit of sesame oil, and heat. Once onions begin to brown and soften, add the whiskey soaked beef, garlic, a dash of whiskey, and sprinkle soy sauce over liberally. Allow beef to cook, and once beef has browned, add salt and additional soy sauce to taste. Once the taste is right and beef is fully cooked, remove from stove immediately to preserve the tenderness of the beef. Serves 3-4 people.
None of my friends like whiskey, so I figured I should do something with it.
