      I've been starting to wonder if Clinton's race statements aren't a calculated mechanism to hand a measure of control over this issue to an Obama-Clinton campaign. Note that the statements didn't come full force until she identified herself as a sort of "loyal opponent". Once on the ticket, those statements will stick with her and resonate with her supporters, giving them a reason to vote for her even though they are racially-biased against Obama.
      That is to say, she can only play the "I'm your white sister" card before she's on the ticket...
      It also fits with the belief that this end game is only a device to register more Democrats of all flavors before the fall elections.
