So this one reviewer for Slate is less than impressed with the new Mac laptop. Maybye you should save your $3K...
Quoted: Apple's new super-extra-ultraslim MacBook Air laptop is undeniably sexy. As shown in Apple's TV spot, the new laptop slides effortlessly into a manila envelope. But as I watched Steve Jobs demo his new products onstage at San Francisco's Moscone Center, I was struck by all the things you can't do with the MacBook Air.

I can see why it won't fulfill everyone's use cases and why wi-max (or some other really slick always on connection) would be a great idea for this device but it's not fair to say the device costs $3k. Standard configuration is nearly half that at $1,799.
BTW, I remember tons of people being hyper-critical of the iPod when it came out and was $400. I bought one and most people were complaining that it was too expensive, worked only on mac, that competitors had more features, blah blah blah. Guess how that worked out...
Haha okay, $3K was an exaggeration... And yeah, you're right about the iPod. I think there are some people who love to try out new technology as soon as it's released - more power to them, but I'm not one of them. I like to wait till it's familiar and cheap. So, I always come at stuff like this with that bias...
I think the Air is reasonably priced for the premium, ultraslim market. However, I suspect a lot of peoeple will be holding off on a Macbook Pro now that we know a refresh there must be iminent.
