Scary stuff ... I wonder if it's as dangerous for consumers of the stuff as it is for the workers.
At some point we realized that you can just put regular popcorn seeds in a lunch bag (about 1/2 cup) and put it in the microwave (fold the top over a couple of times). It works perfectly well, it's cheaper, it tastes better, and it looks like it might be safer.
Quoted: "It's not some carcinogen where you get cancer 30 years from now or something. The people are dying right in front of you," Michaels said. "You can't wait until you have all the evidence. You have to regulate it."

I've often heard that just regular old butter is better for you than all the fake butter chemicals and margarine out there. You can burn off butter unlike partially hydronated oils. It's a natural substance, albeit a fatty one. As long as you don't eat a ton of it, it's the healthier option. I feel like eating anything processed today poses a mine field of chemicals. I'm glad we shop at PCC now.
