My co-worker just picked up a Scion xB as his grocery getter. I was tempted to buy one too, b/c the car appears so roomy.
It's actually quite spartan. The dash is molded plastic, gauges simple to read, wide seats, tall roof, plenty of cargo space.
The body is plastic and looks fragile (what doesn't these days).
If I didn't buy this car, I'd look at a Corolla or Fit for my daily commuter.

A friend of mine has an older model and gets on average 30mpg.
Only 30mpg? Hm, for some reason I thought it would be more, but guess that's about industry average.
