AideRSS is an RSS Feed filtering tool which launched on July 24, 2007.
Designed for the problem of information overload of your feed reader, AideRSS aims to filter your feeds to show you only the most relevant and highest quality posts. I think there is a definite pain-point here, among those of us that subscribe to feeds.
They use a technique they call PostRank (now THAT's original!) which includes data from technorati, digg, and on-site comments, to try to glean which posts are getting the most interaction.
I found, that they don't read Blue Dot's RSS feeds properly (tried to submit http://bluedot.us/users/mike/rss) and it instead fell back to Blue Dot Buzz for technology(?).
Also, when reading the "best" posts from techcrunch, I note that some of what they call "best" is really just the posts that have flame-wars on them (e.g., Michael Moore vs. Google). It's not actually what I would consider the highest quality content.
AideRSS is an intelligent assistant that saves time and keeps you on top of the latest news. We research every story and filter out the noise, allowing you to focus on what matters most.

Our friend Ande is Creative Director for Feed Granola and responsible for the branding that propelled Feed into a national brand. He was interviewed as part of a segment profiling the company on Donny Deutsch's "Entrepreneurs" on CNBC.
1 FaverViewed: 12 TimesQuoted: Ande La Monica has been working with the Granola Guys since the start and has taken on the position of Creative Director. He has developed the logo, packaging, ancillary marks, website, style guides, advertisements, various marketing materials, photo treatments, in store displays, trade show booths, t shirts and apparel, and the company cars (affectionately called the FEED Machines… hybrids of course.) Over the past few years he has helped take FEED granola co. from a 7 floor walk up to a national brand.

I played around with it for a bit, and their algorithm doesnt seem to sort it in a order very relevant to my interests. Good intentions, but bad execution
I agree, it's just a start. Their ranks are useful for high-volume blogs. But their UI is really bad (though it LOOKS really pretty). I imported my 150 feed OPML file. They call come in at the same filtering level ("good"). I had to watch their screencast to see how to change levels for each feed - it's very non obvious and a multi-page effort to change the settings for each and every feed.
