  • Ken, Deb and I ate here last night and it was absolutely fantastic sushi, probably the best I have had in Seattle. The place is pretty down to earth in terms of its style but the menu is irreverent, calling out the music is chef's choice, you should be considerate while talking on your phones, and that the chef is happy to take questions about sushi and motorcycles. All this and they have a great domain name to boot.

I had a standard chef's assortment of rolls and nigiri with an upgrade to the geoduck roll. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. My stomach is grumbling just thinking about it.

went to Mashiko for dinner on Friday and it was amazing! definitely one of the best sushi places i've been to, but kinda pricey. the service was great, the selection huge and the food so oo tasty. the only downfall was the wait, it took us about 45 minutes to get a table. they do take reservations though, so i would recommend that especially on a friday or saturday night

    highly recommended

Great sushi place in West Seattle. Best thing on the menu is Omakase, which basically means "leave it to the chef" -- you tell them how much you want to spend and if there's anything you can't stand or if there's anything you particularly like and the rest is up to the chef. We've never been disapointed. I'm dotting them now because they just Best Sushi Restaurant in Seattle on nwsource.com.

Went here for dinner last night. It's the second time I've eaten here. Both times the waite staff were very nice, but completely overwhelmed and sloooow. They also weren't very knowledgeable about what they were serving. The sushi was pretty good. I'd say one of the better places to go in Seattle but not the best. My newest snobby concern with rolls is the consistency of the rice and here it was done almost perfectly. I'd say this is a recommend if you are in the neighborhood and have time to spend. Otherwise, I'd spend a little more scratch and go to Nijo's which, so far, has provided the best sushi I've had in Seattle.
