      HAHAHA...this is really funny! I actually played the Pachebel Canon in my high school orchestra...so I totally know what he's talking about ;D Good thing i played the violin, and not the cello!

      my musically challenged wife just accidentally picked out this melody from a Bob Schneider song.

      At first she was like "Oh I love this song!" which was a surprise in itself - that she recognized a song. Then when the singing started she realized that it wasn't classical music playing. So we did some back and forth with some humming and stuff, and realized that she was thinking of the canon in d.

      I guess that chord progression is just very ingrained in western musical ears.
