now I will choose Tully's over Starbucks (though I do prefer to go with a small business if I have that choice over either of these two).
Quoted: Tully’s Coffee is now serving Fair Trade Certified, Organic Espresso as a standard in all of our barista beverages. This change represents the first and largest commitment to Fair Trade Certified and Organic Espresso by a multi-unit coffee house retailer. Through the support of fair trade and organic practices, we are helping to bring greater economic stability to the world’s coffee growing regions, rewarding our growers for the amazing coffees they produce and reducing our environmental impact.

1 FaverQuoted: Indeed, when it comes to Europe, most people imagine that it's the big countries such as France and Germany that set the direction for the European Union. But it turns out that it's really Ireland. By rejecting the EU's Lisbon treaty in a referendum in June, Irish voters have single-handedly changed the course of the European project. The treaty needs the support of all 27 EU member countries to come into effect; the Irish have probably killed it.

I believe Starbucks owns Tully's?
i think starbucks bought sbc but not tully's. not 100% sure though.
tully's remains starbucks free. from a quote in the PI article (i'll dot it next) "The Seattle-based coffee company on Wednesday will implement a handful of environmentally friendly business practices in hopes of pulling customers away from Starbucks, the international specialty coffee giant."
seattle's best is owned by starbucks.
